Roger Hileman joined Murphy-Wall State Bank in February 2002 bringing 29 years of banking experience to our staff. Currently he serves as an Executive Vice President and Senior Loan officer of the Bank. Roger attended Shawnee Community College and Southern Illinois University in Carbondale for his formal education. Prior to coming to Murphy-Wall, Roger served as president for 5 years at a bank in Herrin, Illinois and also at a Savings and Loan institution in Chester, Illinois for 15 years. He has attended numerous classes and seminars covering all aspects of banking and lending including residential construction, real estate appraisal, and residential lending. Roger served 11 years as a Board of Director of the Illinois League of Financial Institutions and 11 years as a member of the Illinois League Career Development School committee. Four of those years he served as Chairman of that Committee. Roger is involved with all types of loans including commercial, investment and residential. He is most experienced in the residential lending market where he has spent most of his 29 years. When asked how residential lending stays fresh after all of these years, Roger replied that "nothing makes him feel better than to assist people with home ownership. The ability to own real estate is what really makes the United States different from other countries." Roger’s Tip: Whether buying or building, it’s never too early to stop in and see a loan officer. The sooner a loan officer can help get you qualified for the loan, the easier the closing process will be after you find a home to buy or build. |
