2016-2017 MWSB Panther Spirit Challenge Season Wraps Up
Since the 2000-2001 PCHS basketball season, Murphy-Wall State Bank has given Pinckneyville Community High School organizations and teams, over $11,000.00 that have participated in the Panther Spirit Challenge. This year’s organizations earned $395.00 for their treasury during the event. Those organizations participating were: Poms, Cheerleaders, Fishing Team, Golf Team, Cross Country Team, Jazz Band, Softball Team and Chorus. Murphy-Wall State Bank supports their efforts in supporting their team and raising school spirit and funds for their organization. We look forward to next year’s challenge. Read more. . . March Student of the Month-Dustin Engelhardt
The PCHS Murphy-Wall State Bank Student of the Year Award began with the class of 1995. Selection for the award begins in September of each school year. Seniors apply for this honor by submitting a 500 word essay on a selected topic. This year’s topic was: What current event will have the greatest effect on your future and why? Happy Retirement Carolyn Hutchings!
After 40 years of service to Murphy-Wall State Bank and her loyal customers, Carolyn balanced her drawer for the final time, December 28, 2016. She will be spending her extra time with her family, but she will miss her work and customers.
Women in Banking Conference
The conference, hosted by the Illinois Bankers Association gives women in the financial workforce opportunity to network with their peers, compare notes with those who have similar challenges and success, and learn from top-rated speakers on management, leadership, industry issues and personal development. This year Murphy-Wall State Bank employees, VP Claudia Choate, VP Candice Knight, CSR Kathy Kellerman and Teller/Marketing Team Member Kasey Eichten attended the two day conference held at the Crown Plaza in Springfield IL.
Over 180 women attended the conference that highlighted: Building connections and your talent pool, leadership skills, compliance and security issues with many more break-out session topics. Those in attendance will use the information from the conference to focus on helping their bank stand out and succeed during these tough economic times.
IBA Committee Re-Appointments
EVP/COO Susan E Davis and SVP/Controller/ISO Kathy A Marlow recently were re-appointed to the Illinois Bankers Association (IBA) Human Resources Committee and the Technology and Operations Committee, respectively by IBA President and CEO Linda Koch.
As a member of the Committee, EVP/COO Davis will assist in developing the Human Resources track for The ONE Conference, the Human Resources Forum, and on an array of educations programs, such as webinars and seminars.
As a member of the Committee, SVP/Controller/ISO Marlow is charged with staying current on the latest strategies and emerging issues regarding information technology and operations; assists with increasing awareness, knowledge and understanding of operational and risk management challenges; existing and future technology needs in the banking industry; advises and helps formulate the technology and operations track at The ONE Conference, online and classroom-based programs.
