Employees attend ONE Conference

Murphy-Wall State Bank and Trust Company employees; Claudia Choate, Kara Austin, Monika Holder, Sarah Folden and Bailey Thompson recently participated in The ONE Conference sponsored by the Illinois Bankers Association. The event was held March 1-2 at the Embassy Suites in East Peoria.

The conference features seven educational tracks – 37 sessions in all – including bank marketing, financial management, leadership development, technology and operations, customer relations, human resources and retail banking. The concept of The ONE is that it brings together bankers from throughout the state for Opportunity, Networking and Education, where multiple employees from a bank can easily attend an educational conference.

This year, the two-day conference began with a “Spring Training” theme for the first day with attendees sporting their favorite major league baseball apparel. In between sessions, they visited with industry providers for products and services that would benefit the bank. The second day of the conference focused on the FLA (Future Leaders Alliance) graduating class, which included Murphy-Wall State Bank’s Monika Holder. FLA is an innovative program for aspiring bankers that emphasizes education, community service and networking. Monika is the sixth Murphy-Wall State Bank employee to graduate from the program.
