Murphy-Wall State Bank and Trust Company’s PCHS Student of the Month for December is Kailey Lacy. Clubs and organizations she is involved with include FBLA, Senior Class Secretary/Treasurer, Beta Club, MAPPS, WYSE Team, Scholar Bowl and Pep Club. With a full schedule of clubs and organizations keeping her involved, she joked, “Who has time for extracurricular activities?” Kailey’s college plans include attending SIUE, majoring in accounting.
About the Award
PCHS Seniors were given the opportunity to apply for the Murphy-Wall State Bank PCHS Student of the Month honor at the beginning of the school year. They were asked to submit a 500 word essay with the topic: “What four classes, currently offered at your school or that you wish would be available, do you feel a student should complete before graduating from high school that assists in preparing students for an independent and successful life? And why?” Sixteen applications were submitted, with nine students being selected by a committee of three anonymous members from outside the community. These nine students will receive the honor of Student of the Month and $50.
